| Job Goal: | To help provide a safe environment for students in a non-structional setting such as the lunch room, playground, field trips, etc. |
| Qualifications: | 1. High School Diploma or GED. 2. Demonstrated successful experience working with young people in a school setting desirable. 3. Bilingual in Yup’ik and English preferred. 4. Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment. 5. Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below. |
| Duties: | 1. Assists with the supervision of the students during lunch periods, assemblies, play periods, and on field trips. 2. Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as snack, restroom, and clothing routines. 3. Assist individual students in need of special attention. 4. Performs clerical duties. 5. Sets up and operates equipment. 6. Checks and records student attendance. 7. Collects and records lunch money. 8. Keeps bulletin boards and other classroom learning displays up to date. 9. Alerts the teacher of any problem or special information about the individual student. 10. Maintains a sense of responsibility and positive attitude toward students and fellow employees. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. |
