About the Department
This position supervises the administrative functions of the Special Enforcement Division.
- Processes completed Beautification Division work orders and tracking sheets; reviews each document for accuracy; determines and list mileage on each cutting and litter removal document; determines and assigns a location code to each cutting document; updates the routing list for crews that follow fixed routes; updates the state DOT list; list document data on a monthly tracking sheet with a breakdown of work categories and daily mileage totals.
- Processes completed Forestry Division work orders and tracking sheets; makes initial entries into the log book of documents; locates and closes completed documents in the log book; enters stump information on spreadsheet; makes correction on documents.
- Screens new Beautification Division work orders to ensure that they were assigned to the correct division; transfers incorrectly assigned documents to the correct division; utilizes the Arc View and Oasis programs to verify that work is being done on city right of way.
- Prepares daily route sheets for the Beautification Division; estimates locations to be serviced; assigns work orders to appropriate crews.
- Researches property ownership and city right-of-way.
- Prepares the Forestry & Beautification Division monthly reports, makes copies, and distributes; enters report information on spreadsheet.
- Maintains herbicide records; calculates totals for hours utilized, the volume of chemicals, acres sprayed, and the cost of the chemicals; summarizes totals for the monthly report; analyzes records for improper type or rates of application.
- Maintains stump removal spreadsheet.
- Prepares the Beautification Division Budget; assist in the preparation of the Forestry Budget.
- Performs internet research on herbicide, adverse weather, and the availability of re-certification courses for employees.
- Maintains all division records; assists in the management of the division budget; maintains records of on-the-job injuries and payroll.
- Maintains inventory of operational supplies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and level of competency are commonly associated with specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for two (2) years.
Other Qualifications
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table while intermittently standing, walking or stooping and distinguishes between shades of color. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
