What You’ll Do as Parent Partner Coordinator

You’ll lead a team of Parent Partners—mentors with lived experience—to support families referred by the Iowa Department of Human Services through the Children & Families of Iowa statewide program.

You will:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain Parent Partners 
  • Lead and manage teams to ensure program goals and contractual guidelines are met 
  • Oversee weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly responsibilities for program success 
  • Ensure monthly clinical collaboration meetings for Parent Partners to address clinical issues and improve service quality 
  • Drive within assigned counties and collaborate with team members to maintain smooth program operations 
  • Submit timely and accurate reports to keep the program running effectively

Requirements

What You Bring — and How We’ll Support Your Growth

  • A strong foundation in Child Welfare. You have an Associate degree and at least 4 years of full-time experience in Child Welfare services. (Have a high school diploma but extensive experience and skills? You may still be considered!) 
  • A commitment to grow as a leader. You’ve led others before or you’re eager to develop leadership skills with our training and support. 
  • A chance to earn certification (with our help). You’ll obtain the Iowa Parent Partner Coordinator Certification within 4 months of hire—we’ll support you through the process. 
  • Strong communication that makes an impact. Excellent writing skills are required. Experience writing court reports or testifying in court is a bonus (but not mandatory). 
  • Tools to help you succeed. You have access to high-speed internet to complete some job responsibilities. 
  • Reliability and professionalism. You have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. (Background and driving checks will be completed before employment.)
