Pay: $1,861.20/week (plus $2,200 completion bonus per contract, up to $6,600 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dependable Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment, a Level II Trauma Facility. The OR RN will provide safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in a dynamic surgical environment that performs a wide variety of cases, including general surgery, neuro/spine, cardiovascular/thoracic, orthopedic, gynecologic, and robotic procedures.

This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative surgical team that values flexibility, adaptability, and professional excellence. The ideal candidate is an experienced perioperative RN who thrives in a fast-paced trauma setting and demonstrates excellent communication and clinical judgment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for procedures, ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to support safe and efficient operations.
• Provide direct intraoperative care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and enforce infection control standards throughout all surgical processes.
• Serve as a circulating nurse and, when applicable, assist as scrub nurse to support procedural needs.
• Ensure accurate documentation in Meditech EMR according to facility protocols.
• Coordinate patient handoffs between pre-op, intra-op, and post-anesthesia care teams.
• Participate in trauma call coverage as part of the Level II Trauma response team.
• Demonstrate leadership and sound decision-making in high-pressure surgical environments.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and open communication within the OR.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado or Compact State RN license (required).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Prior experience in a Level II Trauma facility (required).
• Strong background in general surgery, neuro/spine, CVT, orthopedic, GYN, and robotic procedures.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred.
• OR Charge Nurse experience is highly preferred.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
