Overview:

The Senior Director of Finance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial planning, analysis, and operations of MasTec Energy Solutions (MES). This role partners with executive leadership to drive financial strategy, ensure fiscal responsibility, and support long-term growth. The Senior Director of Finance leads the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, risk analysis, evaluation and management, forecasting economic trends, enforcing pecuniary policies and guidelines, and managing other related projects, and compliance while implementing best practices to enhance financial performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by the executive team.
  • Lead long-term financial planning, capital structure, and investment strategies.
  • Identify reporting inconsistencies within the business units.

Financial Management

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
  • Head financial analysis for informing pricing scenarios and business models.
  • Direct preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial data.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead meetings regarding fiscal functions of MasTec, and Group reporting (Flash, Forecast, Budget)
  • Optimize financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial planning with operational priorities.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, tax filings, and audit standards.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Oversee risk management, internal controls, and treasury functions.

Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field of study.
  2. 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  3. Proven track record in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and risk management practices.
  5. Ability to comprehend multifaceted fiscal modes, assess risks, and handle investments and budgets.
  6. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive business results.
  8. Ability to present information and ideas. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Proficient in MS Office products.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. A Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field of study.
  2. 12 or more years of experience in a similar position.
