Position Summary

Meridian HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Director to provide leadership and strategic direction for all pharmacy operations across the organization. The Pharmacy Director oversees dispensing, compliance, and clinical integration, ensuring safe and effective medication management that supports Meridian’s mission of providing integrated, high-quality healthcare.

This position plays a key role in managing the 340B Drug Pricing Program, collaborating with leadership to expand access to affordable medications and optimize pharmacy performance across multiple service lines.


 

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all pharmacy operations, including supervision, training, and evaluation of pharmacy staff.
     
  • Oversee daily dispensing and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
     
  • Direct and manage the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including eligibility, billing, inventory management, and replenishment.
     
  • Ensure program compliance with HRSA, OPA, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
     
  • Collaborate with finance, compliance, and third-party administrators (TPAs) to reconcile claims, monitor savings, and resolve billing discrepancies.
     
  • Prepare reports for leadership and regulatory agencies regarding pharmacy operations and 340B performance.
     
  • Lead internal and external 340B audits and implement corrective action plans as needed.
     
  • Develop, implement, and update pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
     
  • Partner with clinical providers to support medication therapy management, patient counseling, and chronic disease management.
     
  • Monitor pharmacy performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, efficiency, compliance, and patient satisfaction.
     
  • Represent pharmacy services in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning for expanded medication access.
     
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including wholesalers, payers, and contracted pharmacies.
     
  • Participate in staff development and training per agency policy.
     
  • Report unusual incidents and accidents in accordance with agency procedures.
     
  • Uphold all agency policies, procedures, and regulations, and support Meridian’s mission and philosophy.
     
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive working relationships internally and externally.
     
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; advanced degree or management certification preferred.  
  • Current, unrestricted Ohio pharmacist license required.  
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program required.  
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), hospital, or multi-site healthcare organization preferred.
