Position Summary
Inspira Medical Group is recruiting a Nurse practitioner to join a collegial and collaborative gastroenterology practice in Vineland, NJ. In this role you will care for ambulatory patients with conditions including GERD, motility disorders, IBD, IBS, hepatitis, fatty liver, GI bleeding, polyps and colorectal cancer. You will work alongside a gastroenterologist on complex cases requiring advanced intervention.
This is a M-F position with no on call, weekends, or holiday coverage
Position Responsibilities
Includes but is not limited to:
-conduct comprehensive assessments, medical histories and examinations of patients presenting with gastrointestinal concerns
-Diagnose and develop treatment plans for a variety of GI conditions as stated above
-Provide follow-up care, monitoring of condition as well as comprehensive education
-Order and interpret diagnostic studies, labs and endoscopic procedures
-Screen patients prior to colonoscopy/endoscopy and provide education
-Ensure compliance with evidence-based guidelines
Position Experience Required
Experience in gastroenterology strongly preferred
Position Qualifications (details here or list below)
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in NJ
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Active NJ CDS and DEA license
- BLS certification

Performs a physical examination based on age and history.
- Obtains a relevant health and medical history.
- Conducts preventive screening procedures based on age and history.
- Identifies medical and health risks and needs.
- Updates and records change in health status.
- Identifies needs of the individual, family or community as a result of the evaluation of the collected data.
Formulates the appropriate therapeutic regimens:
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
- Contributes to physician’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary to deliberations; recommending options and course of action; implementing physician directives.

Providing relevant patient education:
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
Accurately conducting and interpreting diagnostic Tests:
- Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies.
- Interprets results of tests performed or ordered.
Accurate Documentation of Client Status and Care:
- Documents patient care services by charting in EMR and other clinical systems.
Responsibility as Client Advocate:
- The Nurse Practitioner interprets their role to individuals, families, and other health professionals.
- As an advocate, participates in health policy activities at the local, state, and national levels.
Quality Assurance:
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
- Participation in quality assurance reviews on a periodic basis, including systematic review of records and treatment plans.
- Maintenance professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
- Maintenance of certification in compliance with current laws.
Compliance:
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Completes annual mandatory Corporate Compliance Training.
