We are looking for a Communications Partner to join our Canadian Access, Sustainability & External Engagement team based out of either Greater Toronto Area, ON or Monreal, QC
About the role
The Communications Partner is to lead the development and execution of strategic communications initiatives that advance UCB Canada’s external engagement and internal alignment with UCB’s Ambition and Vision.
Who you’ll work with
This role will collaborate internally and externally to contribute in shaping UCB’s presence in the Canadian healthcare ecosystem through thoughtful, consistent, and impactful communications.
What you’ll do
- Contribute to the design and implementation of integrated communication strategies that support UCB’s business priorities and leadership aspirations. Identify key audiences, determine core messages, and establish a schedule and cadence for regular updates.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to align messaging with strategic goals.
- Support the creation and delivery of external-facing content including press releases, social media, thought leadership, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage relationships with external communications vendors and partners.
- Develop and distribute internal communications such as newsletters, announcements, and leadership messages.
- Develop and Implement Internal Communication Strategy: Design and execute a comprehensive strategy for internal communications, aligning with organizational goals and values.
- Channel Management and Delivery: Evaluate, select, and manage the most effective communication channels—such as intranets, email newsletters, digital signage, town hall meetings, and collaboration platforms—to ensure streamlined and targeted messaging tailored to diverse employee groups.
- Content Creation and Curation: Draft, edit, and curate compelling content for internal audiences, including announcements, leadership messages, organizational updates, policy changes, and recognition stories.
- Message Consistency and Alignment: Safeguard the consistency and accuracy of internal messaging by collaborating with senior leaders and other stakeholders. Provide guidance on tone, language, and branding to ensure clarity and alignment across all communication touchpoints.
- Engages regularly with the CA Leadership Team for internal communications including developing and executing communications for Town Halls, videos, events, PIM’s, and more
- Partner with departments across the organization to ensure alignment and consistency in communications.
- Support the planning and execution of events, presentations, and campaigns.
- Work closely with leadership during times of change or crisis to develop timely, transparent, and empathetic communication strategies that support employees and maintain trust.
- Track and analyze communication metrics to assess effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5-7+ years experience in strategic communications, preferably in healthcare or life sciences.
- Strategic mindset with proven ability to align and translate business goals into communication plans.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.
- Bilingual in English/French (required).
