The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for the oversight and preparation, coordination, and documentation of complex financial analysis projects such as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.  Provides analysis for forward-looking financial and business-related projects.  Prepares forecasts and analysis of trends in finance, general business conditions, and other related areas.  Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior leadership.  May conduct special financial and business-related studies and cooperates with other departments in the preparation of analysis.  Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.  Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Creates program/service line proforma’s/models (business modeling tools) to assess their existing sustainability and impact of program changes (service elements, staffing levels, etc.,) with support of Finance and Program leads.
2. Provides financial analysis and assessment of new/potential programs and expansion of existing program business opportunities to support strategic initiatives and priorities identified through the Easterseals MORC Program Cycle Planning Process: Business Plan Concept Paper with Rating Scale.
3. Assists with possible business acquisition/merger due diligence financial reviews as directed by the President/CEO and Chief Financial Officer. This includes the examination of financial risks and potentials and estimating potential partners’ and internal organizational resource/investment needs and goals.
4. Supports budget planning and development activities around new/modified business opportunities working with key program and finance leaders.  This includes financial modeling and forecasting support.
5. Attends budget/finance and other program business performance meetings providing strategic input regarding program performance to model using actual results to update program models and/or changes for program efficiency.
6. Reviews and analyzes financial statements and reports.
7. Analyzes financial data and provides forecasting support to senior leadership and leadership team to support tactical and strategic decision making.
8. Assists in the budget and forecast process, maintaining budget, and forecast information in the accounting systems and understands key business drivers, tracks key performance indicators, and prepares reports and projections based on financial data. 
9. Special projects as required.
10. Promotes staff retention through policy expectations related to staff supervision, professional development, formal recognition, and teambuilding.
