We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We are seeking an ICM Crisis Specialist to provide crisis intervention, screenings, assessments, and service referrals for adults authorized for Targeted Case Management receiving treatment on the Integrated Case Management (ICM) team.
This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services.
- At least six months of full-time experience working with persons with mental illness, substance abuse disorder, or intellectual or developmental disabilities (fieldwork and/or internship experience can apply).
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of persons with severe mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Demonstrated communications skills that effectively convey information.
- Demonstrated active listening, i.e. listening to what other people say and asking appropriate questions.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS:
- Experience providing crisis interventions to persons with mental illness.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principles, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions).
- Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
