Food Partnerships offers programming that reflects our commitment to our students, staff and faculty. In addition to overseeing the foodoutlets, beverage services, and vending on campus, our division also ensures food needs and diversity are met through various campus food offerings, builds community by bringing people together over a meal at various food festivals and events, ensures equipment and furniture are well maintained, operates TCard+ Program and meets the changing needs of our community as a whole through the Food User Committee.
Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Food Operation, the Beverage Services and Operations Administrator is a key role that provides support and supervision to our hospitality staff and vendors. The incumbent is responsible for promoting UTSC events, collaborating with internal and externalstakeholders, and completing required analysis to be able to provide recommended improvements. The Beverage Services and Operations Administrator is responsible for scheduling staff, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth operations for events on campus.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvements
- Applying established standards to ensure compliance
- Implementing sales and marketing plans to increase revenue-generating activities
- Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
- Providing formal job-related training
- Liaising with others to coordinate logistical modifications to service delivery
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance
Essential Qualifications:
- College Diploma (2 years) in Hospitality or Business Administration or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of recent and related retail operation experience.
- Experience supporting food and beverage needs for a large multi-location operation.
- Previous experience supervising staff in a unionized environment required.
- Food Handler Safety, Smart Serve and WHMIS Certification required.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to supervise a high-volume facility while providing excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of liquor laws and relevant University policies pertaining to events.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in relation to the use of catering software i.e. MS Suite, SharePoint, Kronos, UTime, etc.
- Must be highly organized, adaptable, and flexible to resolve problems and react to last minute requests quickly and effectively.
- Working knowledge of financial reporting and budgets.
