We’re seeking a seasoned Retirement Plans Specialist to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of our retirement benefits strategy.
This position supports the administration of complex retirement plans, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, and provides strategic guidance to employees navigating their retirement options. Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS), PHR, or SPHR certifications preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan Administration & Compliance
- Administer and oversee retirement plans including 401(k), and non-qualified deferred compensation plans.
- Ensure plans comply with ERISA, IRS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct audits and prepare compliance reports.
- Investigate and resolve any weekly file feed issues or bi-weekly payroll issues that may arise.
Benefit Analysis & Strategy
- Analyze retirement plan performance, fees, and investment options.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed plan changes.
- Recommend enhancements to improve plan efficiency and participant outcomes.
Employee Support
- Serve as the primary contact for internal retirement plans inquiries.
- Educate employees on retirement options, and other Financial Wellness tools to support their overall financial health.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate and partner closely with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., HR, payroll, external vendors, etc.).
- Prepare and deliver reports to management and reconcile retirement plan related invoices and documentation.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, or related field or equivalent business experience.
Experience:
- 5 years - Experience in retirement plans administration, and HR.
- Experience with retirement plan software and compliance tools.
- Experience working with Fidelity as a record keeper in the past is a plus.
- Familiar with Workday benefits and payroll system is a plus.
Skills/Certifications:
- Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS), PHR, or SPHR preferred.
- Familiar with retirement plan software and payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS guidelines, and investment principles.
- Ability to interpret financial data.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with employees, leadership, and outside vendors.
