Job Description


 The Pharmacist Professional Support Manager will act as a clinical and professional expert supporting the development and ongoing delivery of clinical services offered in Pharmacies and online. Working in the Superintendent’s Office, the candidate will work to support the development of a pipeline of new pharmacy services ready for delivery in store.  The candidate will work closely with all stakeholders, colleagues and patients to continually improve and optimise the patient experience of pharmacy services in Boots Ireland and to provide expert professional support to the wider business.

Your Responsibilities

• You will provide expert advice and input into the clinical, professional and regulatory aspects of pharmacy and in particular services development and delivery
• You will work to ensure appropriate governance of the end to end development journey
• You will work with the wider pharmacy function to ensure the pipeline of future services are developed robustly and consistently in readiness for digitisation and delivery in pharmacy
• You will apply expertise and knowledge to help shape the development of future pharmacy services models in store that will utilizing pharmacists, pharmacist prescribers and pharmacy technicians differently
• You will support copy and product approval as a key adviser to Consumer Health
• You will support the central pharmacy function, field leaders and store colleagues with professional matters

 

Our Ideal Candidate


• Must be a registered practising pharmacist with 3 years’ post-registration experience of community pharmacy
• Must be willing and able to undertake development in specific clinical areas
• Must have experience of delivering pharmacy services
• Will be proficient in the professional regulations and standards that apply to pharmacy
• Will be an excellent communicator, confidently able to provide legal, professional and ethical support to external stakeholders and internal colleagues (including OTC category, marketing, PR, boots.ie, pharmacy operations, and professional capabilities)
• Will be a team player with a can-do attitude and desire to innovate
• Will be familiar with medicines advertising regulations, professional codes of practice
• Will be able to form and develop clinical relationships with external stakeholders including 3rd party companies in order to shape future service provision
• Must have a good command of the English language, grammar and spelling with articulate communication skills (both written and verbal), a high concern for order and quality, be able to work to tight deadlines, prioritise effectively and deliver on time
• Must be an ambassador for Boots Ireland and be able to make sound judgements when advising colleagues and balancing professional/commercial issues.
• Will be able to act with autonomy and independence in the majority of their workload.
