JOB DESCRIPTION: Strength and Conditioning Specialist (One per site) APPROVED: May 2024
 
 COMPENSATION: Stipend amount according to Extra Duty Compensation Guide
 
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 1. Apply scientific knowledge to train athletes with the primary goal of improving athletic
 performance
 2. Conduct sport-specific testing sessions
 3. Be committed to improving athletic performance of student athletes
 4. Facilitate a reduction of athletic injuries in collaboration with the athletic trainer.
 5. Work with all sport coaches to meet the specific needs of each program
 6. Design science-based, safe and appropriate strength and conditioning programs
 7. Provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention
 8. Ensure that all training equipment is safe and operable at all times
 9. Keep an inventory of all training equipment and materials
 10.Keep all strength and conditioning spaces and weight rooms clean and orderly
 11.Provide a welcoming atmosphere for all students and staff
 12.Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner
 13.Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues
 14.Work collaboratively with all Athletic Directors Trainers, Sports Medicine Staff, Coaches and
 Equipment Managers
 15.Establish positive relationships with community partners for orthopedics, physical therapy,
 etc.
 16.Adhere to Title IX compliance guidelines at all times
 17.Maintain punctual and regular attendance
 18.Perform other related duties as assigned
 19.Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 Education / Certificate
 1. Degree in Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Sports Medicine or other closely related and
 relevant degree is required.
 2. Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
 3. Candidates with CSCS credentials will be given first consideration.
 4. Other credentials (NASM or similar) will be required if candidate does not have CSCS
 credentials.

 Experience
 1. Three or more years of experience as strength and conditioning specialist
 2. Experience with young adult athletes preferred
 3. Experience in multiple sports (male and female) required
 Communication Skills
 1. Speaking, reading and writing in English is required
 2. Bilingual communication is beneficial
 Computer Skills
 1. Knowledge of Google Suites
 2. Knowledge of relevant software programs
