Salary: $65000 to $70000 – depending on experience
Job Summary
The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will work primarily with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role involves providing individual therapy using evidence-based practices, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), delivering behavior consultation services, and offering structured parent training to support skill development and behavior management in the home and community. Experience working with individuals with IDD and Autism is essential. The ability to conduct comprehensive autism assessments, including the ADOS-2, is preferred; however, training will be provided for qualified candidates without prior experience in autism diagnostics.

Therapeutic Services:
- Provides individual and family therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Tailors interventions to meet the developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs of neurodiverse children and adolescents.
Behavioral Services:
- Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) in home, clinic, and/or school settings.
- Collaborates with behavior analysts, teachers, and caregivers to develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Monitors and adjusts interventions based on data and ongoing progress.
Parent & Caregiver Training:
- Provides structured parent training and coaching to improve child outcomes and family dynamics.
- Offers psychoeducation about autism spectrum disorder, behavior management strategies, and navigating support services.
Consultation:
- Serves as a behavioral consultant to schools, clinics, or agencies, providing guidance on intervention strategies, classroom accommodations, and staff training.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, educators, and other psychologists.
Assessment:
- Conducts comprehensive autism evaluations using standardized tools including the ADOS-2 and other diagnostic instruments.
- Integrates data from clinical interviews, behavioral observations, rating scales, and collateral sources to inform diagnostic impressions.
- Prepares thorough, accurate, and timely psychological assessment reports.
- Communicates assessment results clearly and compassionately to families and, as needed, to schools or other service providers
Other Duties:
- Maintains credentials and continuing education requirements
- Participates in clinical meetings with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provides crisis management services, which may include the facilitation of emergency psychiatric hospitalization services, when necessary, under the supervision of the AVP Behavioral Health Services.
- Completes all required documentation, including but not limited to psychological evaluations, progress notes, wellness/resiliency plan and discharge summaries.
- Participates in discharge planning meetings, support the transition process and provide any necessary documentation to facilitate further communication reintegration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current and active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Strong background in autism spectrum disorders, behavioral psychology, and developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience providing individual therapy to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
- Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and delivering behavioral consultation services in clinical or community settings.
- Skilled in providing parent training and caregiver support using evidence-based strategies.
- Experience with autism diagnostic assessments, including the ADOS-2, is preferred; training will be provided for candidates without prior assessment experience.
- Strong clinical documentation, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Commitment to culturally responsive, person-centered care and continuous professional development.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the field of social services.
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
