The Supervisor, Repairs & Warranty is responsible for managing the repair/overhaul and warranty of related aircraft components by leading a team that administers repair orders and/or warranty claims, analyzing the related quotes and recommending next course of action.
- Locating new sources for repair and negotiating strategic agreements to be best in market
- Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies, monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices
- Tracking overdue materials and working with vendors to better Turn Around Time (TAT)
- Tracking monthly expenditures categorically and identifying cost reduction opportunities
- Coaching the Warranty & Repair staff with their development and implementation of initiatives that support Spirit’s corporate goals
- Measuring internal customer service levels
- Implementing MRO supply chain efficiency initiatives
- Maintaining multi-million-dollar budget and producing cost reductions
- Interfacing with Material Planning and Material Services units to drive efficiencies in the supply chain department
- Interfacing with Accounting to ensure accuracy of all and repair activity
- Complying with SOX requirements
- Ensuring 100% of warranty opportunities are fulfilled
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments.)
- 3-5 years' experience in related technical field
- Bachelors’ degree in Business or related technical field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree, required
- Minimum 5 years of procurement, repair or warranty experience, aviation related required
- Minimum 2+ years of direct supervisory/management experience, preferred
- Airbus warranty process knowledge preferred
- Familiarity with TRAX preferred
