Job description:

CACTUS is a remote-first organization and we embrace an accelerate from anywhere culture. You may choose to work from home in Mumbai; however, you will be required to travel to our Andheri East office once a week for business requirements, meetings, or company/team events, or on short notice as needed.

If you believe HR is about driving business outcomes through people (and not just running processes), this role is for you.

We’re looking for a Business Partner who can balance empathy with edge — someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds trust fast, and knows that meaningful change doesn’t come from playbooks but from understanding people deeply.

This role partners closely with business leaders across functions to translate business priorities into actionable people plans. You’ll also contribute to central HR initiatives that strengthen our global BP practice.

You’ll be based out of Mumbai in a hybrid setup, combining in-office collaboration for key meetings, events, and business engagements with the flexibility to work remotely.

Expect a mix of strategic problem-solving, hands-on execution, and plenty of learning as we reimagine what a next-gen BP function looks like.

Job responsibilities:

Business Partnering (≈60%)

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers, influencing decisions through data, insight, and sound judgment.
  • Diagnose team health, track sentiment and engagement (via tools and 1:1’s), and proactively identify areas that need intervention.
  • Drive conversations on performance, growth, and organization design — ensuring we balance business priorities with people well-being.
  • Partner with leaders on org changes, role transitions, and workforce planning.
  • Coach managers to lead with clarity and compassion, especially in remote and cross-cultural setups.

Central Initiatives & HR Programs (≈40%)

  • Anchor or co-own central BP projects (e.g., talent reviews, leadership development, engagement programs, or org-wide change initiatives).
  • Track and analyze people metrics (attrition, engagement, hiring trends, span ratios, etc.) to guide interventions.
  • Contribute to quarterly All Hands, team offsites, and cultural initiatives that keep our teams connected.
  • Collaborate closely with HR COEs to ensure data, process, and people insights are tightly integrated.
Qualifications and prerequisites:
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR business partnering or an equivalent generalist role.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and handle sensitive situations with maturity and judgment.
  • Comfort with data and analytics to tell compelling people stories and drive decisions.
  • Exposure to fast-paced, global, or remote environments is a plus.
  • Strong curiosity, a bias for action, and the ability to work through ambiguity.
Application process:

Before applying, please ensure you meet the role requirements listed above and have legal authorization to work in the country where this role is advertised. Our selection process typically involves an initial screening by a recruiter, a technical assessment, and two to three interview rounds. For this role, there will be a screening round with thr recruiter followed by 2 interviews.

Equal Opportunity

Our hiring practices reflect our commitment to providing equal opportunities and creating an environment where everyone can thrive, develop, and succeed. We celebrate the uniqueness of our team members and prohibit discrimination of any kind, based on race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

Accelerating from Anywhere

As a remote-first organization, these are essential attributes we look for in all our candidates.

  • Taking ownership of your work with minimal supervision, showing strong ability to organize, prioritize and deliver results independently.
  • Documenting work that brings everyone on the same page.
  • Maturity to choose between synchronous and asynchronous collaboration.
  • Effectively collaborating with colleagues across different time zones by setting dedicated hours for collaboration and keeping team members updated through your MS Teams status.
