Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial officer to join the Future Programmes team in Commercial Aviation Contracting in the Civil Aerospace business.

This is an exciting role that gives the opportunity to work with airframers and partners in the earliest stages of product development through to developing our proposals for new airframe applications and contracting the new business. In addition, there are opportunities to work in the leasing team, customer business team and services development.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading strategic projects to provide innovation and competitive advantage in developing our airframer proposals.
  • Contracting advanced research agreements with airframers and other potential partners.
  • Leading the development of contracting structures that meet the requirements of the businesses and our customers
  • Commercial support to technology development teams.
  • Continually develop our policies and processes for new product development and intellectual property management to give consistency across all sectors and regions.
  • Providing general commercial advice and guidance to the wider business and in particular to the engineering teams.

Position Qualifications:

  • You will have a degree or equivalent qualification, a strong commercial aptitude, the ability to deal with commercial issues and analyse and interpret contractual wording with attention to detail.
  • You should have prior experience of working with external parties such as suppliers, partners, or customers.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Candidates should have a strong desire to enhance contract drafting and negotiation / business relationship skills, and be capable of working under their own initiative.
  • You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • You will have excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • It is essential that you are comfortable working on your own in a highly engineering focused environment.
  • It is important that you are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, be able to overcome challenges to meet goals and drive for results, possess the ability to honour commitments, and exercise sound business judgement.
