Dixon Quick Coupling, a division of The Dixon Group is looking for a Screw Machine Operator to join our team in Dallas, NC! You don’t need prior screw machine experience to succeed in this role — if you’re mechanically inclined and enjoy hands-on work, we’ll provide the training you need. Candidates with backgrounds in manufacturing, maintenance, automotive repair, welding, or general machine operation often thrive here. If you’re detail-oriented, safety-minded, and comfortable using tools like wrenches or calipers, you already have many of the skills we’re looking for. 🔧What You'll Do:
- Learn to operate and maintain multi-spindle screw machines by selecting tools, adjusting feeds and speeds, and loading raw materials (such as metal rods or bars)
- Interpret part drawings and instructions to produce accurate components
- Use measuring tools (like calipers, micrometers, and gauges) to confirm parts meet specifications.
- Perform quality inspections and follow machining processes
- Fine-tune the machine or replace worn tools to maintain precision and productivity
- Keep your workspace clean and prioritize safety at all times
- Support the team with additional duties as needed
🎯What We're Looking For:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- An understanding of how machines and tools work, even from automotive, HVAC, or maintenance experience.
- Previous experience running or monitoring production or packaging machines in any manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read blueprints and use shop mathematics
- Basic troubleshooting such as identifying and correcting simple mechanical or quality issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn new things and be part of a team
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
