SUMMARY
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, train Maintenance Technician on technical skills and knowledge.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, rebuild and organize setup parts for large industrial machines that include but are not limited to gripping mechanisms, pneumatic cylinders, bushings, bearings, etc.
 - Coordinate with technicians and operators to ensure that tooling is available for continuous plant operations.
 - Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools and various other components in the plant.
 - Use machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to sharpen and shape various wear components in the plant.
 - Plan and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications.
 - Must maintain a clean working environment.
 - Additional duties as assigned.
 
KNOWLEDEGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive knowledge of lathe, mills, and precision grinders.
 - Ability to read machine drawings.
 - Basic troubleshooting of mechanical components.
 - Proficiency with surface plate inspection.
 - Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
 - Basic computer skills.
 - Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
 - Knowledge of tools and their intended use.
 - Knowledge of CNC (Haas &/or Accurite) a plus.
 - Heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds), bending, and stooping will be required.
