About the Role:
The Counselor plays a vital role in supporting individuals facing behavioral health challenges and addiction issues by providing compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions. This position focuses on assessing clients' mental health and substance use needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group counseling sessions to promote recovery and well-being. The Counselor collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of support. Through ongoing monitoring and adjustment of treatment strategies, the Counselor helps clients build coping skills, resilience, and long-term recovery goals. Ultimately, this role aims to empower clients to achieve improved mental health outcomes and a sustainable, healthy lifestyle within their communities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline.
- Working towards, eligible for, or active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent advanced licensure.
- Experience working with individuals affected by behavioral health disorders and addiction.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment modalities and behavioral health interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse client populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized training or certification in addiction counseling or substance use disorder treatment.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a clinical or community setting.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and culturally competent counseling approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough behavioral health and addiction assessments to identify client needs and challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices and client goals.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery and behavioral health improvement.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, and family members to coordinate holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress and treatment outcomes.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during acute behavioral health episodes.
- Stay current with developments in addiction treatment and behavioral health through ongoing professional development.
