Job Title: Benefits Assistant

Job Summary:
The Benefits Assistant will support the Benefit Team with Leave of Absence and Benefit Administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Leaves Administrator with administrative aspects of employee leave of absence and return to work process.
- Work collectively with payroll and HRIS to ensure the proper deductions and/or adjustments are taken for employees returning from LOA with balance due.
- Maintain contact with insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
- Has provided assistance with FMLA and legal notices and understands the law.
- Act as a subject matter expert for escalation of employee benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure a quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
- Responsible for customer service calls for leaves of absence and benefits overseeing and monitoring benefits inbox, resolving issues, monitoring/creating metrics, and working directly with Managers to ensure reasonable timeframes for resolution.
- Assist with the reconciliation of all benefit accounts, audits, and billing.
- Assist in annual benefit open enrollment process, internal communications, updating new elections.
- Act as subject matter expert on FMLA and ADA leaves of absence for internal customers, vendors, auditors, etc.
- Run standard reports and creates ad-hoc reports for audits and/or analysis to support benefits compliance.
- Assist with multiple special projects including streamlining administrative processes associated with benefit plan delivery.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Benefits Administration experience
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements; both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, IRS and DOL regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems: UKG (UltiPro) a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Excel user (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas) required
