JOB SUMMARY:        

Responsible for managing/monitoring the inventory of surgical/clinical supplies in both Materials Management Storerooms, the Hospital/ASC Surgical Supply Rooms, and other clinical supply rooms, as assigned.  Responsibilities include, receiving, storing, distributing, maintaining PAR levels and generating requisitions for order processing of the designated/assigned supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required OR a minimum of 5 years of related work experience. 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of medical experience required, with a minimum of 1 year in medical supply inventory management.      
  • Must be detail oriented, possess excellent organizational skills and have the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills required, with Microsoft Excel spreadsheet competency preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·            Maintains all medical supplies in a neat, organized manner, in accordance with the Sterile Supply storage guidelines in the Materials Management storerooms, Hospital/ASC OR supply rooms and any other clinical supply areas assigned.

·            Restocks designated departments/supply storeroom supplies, utilizing proper rotation, organization, identification, documentation and location.

·            Utilizes forecasting tools and resources for those supplies designated critical to daily operations.

·            Communicates daily with the appropriate buyer to maintain the required PAR levels of supplies in Materials Management storerooms and Hospital/ASC OR Supply rooms.

·            Communicates supply issues in a timely, effective manner with the surgical department leadership and Materials Management Coordinator.   Discusses potential resolutions and requests approval for temporary substitutions and/or other resolutions.

·         Reviews PAR levels for assigned supply areas a minimum of semi-annually.  Communicates any recommended PAR level changes with Surgical Leadership and Materials Management Coordinator.  Implements approved changes.

·         Performs monthly expiration checks of all supplies in the designated/assigned supply areas.  Provides monthly documentation of the expiration checks and tags or pulls supplies meeting the criteria.

·         Participates in “Cycle Counts” and End of Year Inventory counts. The End of Year inventory may be performed during hours outside of normal operating hours and the employee is expected to participate once per year.

·         Receives and unpacks packages.  Reconciles package contents and reports discrepancies accordingly.

·         Accurately receives Purchase Orders electronically utilizing the current MMS.

·         Restocks Materials Management storeroom shelves at the end of each day.

·         Monitors and scans supplies in accordance with the current MMS procedure.

·         Other duties may include but are not limited to: 

o    Collects, prepares, sorts and delivers mail to designated areas.

o    Assists with Materials Management projects as needed.
