GENERAL DESCRIPTION
To analyze assessment data and provide “real time” push-in and pull-out research based interventions in the elementary curricular areas to Title I identified students that are currently below grade level based on analysis of Performance Matters, and SOL Data. In addition, this position will support the classroom teacher through coaching and support of resources for targeted students.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
- Valid Virginia Teaching License

- Gathers, organizes and interprets assessment data on Title I identified students.
- Utilizes best practice instructional strategies and research based intervention curriculum materials to meet the learning needs of identified Title I students.
- Models the use of intervention strategies, through the use in the classroom to general and special education teachers.
- Analyzes existing student achievement data and administers student assessment and progress monitoring instruments as needed to aid in progress monitoring of Title I students.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers, building administrators, and parents regarding best practices and interventions.
- Maintains accurate student records, parent communications records and student progress data reports as required by Title I law and district policy.
- Collaborates with the principal regarding training needs, interventions, and resources for targeted Title I students, and teacher interventions.
- Attends professional development opportunities that promote improved instructional strategies, and support researched based resource material needed to implement the intervention program successfully and support/maintain professional growth.
- Assists and participates in collaborative grade level team meetings and provides information for improved instruction for targeted Title I students.
- Meets with the school principal regularly (weekly) to review benchmarks and established data points to assess student progress towards established Title I targeted interventions.
- Provides non-evaluative feedback to teachers of Title I targeted students on instructional practices and suggestions on how to improve skill mastery for these students.
- Researches and prepares materials/ resources for use by teachers of targeted Title I students. This includes, but is not limited to teaching strategies, and interpretation and use of assessment results.
- Assists teachers in building an interactive classroom for target Title I students to meet learning needs.
- Additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Experience in school setting, excellent customer service, knowledge and understanding of food service, ability to work with a diverse group of students and families, ability to be sensitive to issues, ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Transcripts - Applicants must provide both undergraduate and graduate transcripts; unofficial transcripts are acceptable with the application.

References from a supervising teacher or professor are acceptable when there is no relevant prior work history.
