Job Overview

We currently have an opening for a part-time Sr. Food Server to join our Portland, OR team. Work involves preparation, service and sanitation of food and equipment.  Work areas include dish room, cafeteria serving line, cafeteria cash register, cold food production, catering assignments, stocking, general cleaning duties and compliance with all applicable health codes.  Joint Commission and Hospital directives.

 

Schedule: Part-time FTE 0.7 (in-person)

Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.  

Responsibilities

  • Planning, producing and maintaining food according to sanitation code and quality specifications following department processes and procedures
  • Serves food, retail sales, patient service and catering as required.  Stocking of food deliveries
  • Requires ability to enter food items into register, perform cash transactions and accurately separate opening cash amount from deposit.  
  • Interacts with cafeteria customers, patients, families, visitors, hospital staff, co-workers and management wit a positive attitude demonstrated by always taking initiative to smile, greet and offer assistance
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to follow safe food techniques as described in the HACCP policy and procedure.  Demonstrates knowledge and ability to follow Kitchen Safety policy and procedures
  • Responsible for meeting production and service deadlines.  Demonstrates flexibility with work routines to accommodate spontaneous work requests, schedule variations and fluctuations in patient and retail volumes

Qualifications

Required

  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificate/Food Handlers Card

 

Preferred

  • High School/GED
  • 1 year experience cashier/food prep
  • 1 year Institutional Food Services
