The Brand Superintendent is a key leadership position responsible for the overall educational performance and operational effectiveness of schools within the Ignite Community Schools brand. This role provides direct supervision and evaluation of campus leaders, fosters a collaborative environment, and ensures alignment with the district's strategic plan and goals. The Superintendent serves as a liaison between the schools and the district administration, advocating for the needs of their assigned schools while ensuring accountability and compliance.  The nine (9) Ignite Community Schools comprise 1 of 6 different philosophical brands within ResponsiveEd, and are part of an overall organization of over 100 schools.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Education Administration or an advanced degree in a related field, preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a campus leader or other school administrator, preferably at the district level.
  • Experience working in a large, diverse, or urban school district, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, school improvement planning, and personnel management.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.  
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong understanding of state-specific school operations protocols in a multi-location environment.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Leadership:
  • Provide instructional leadership and support to campus leaders, focusing on improving student achievement, closing achievement gaps, and promoting effective teaching practices, in line with the schools’ specific philosophical approach.
  • Monitor student progress through data analysis and school visits, providing targeted support and interventions as needed.
  • Champion the implementation of initiatives and instructional strategies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth among campus leaders, teachers, and school staff.
  • School Management and Supervision:
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of campus leaders, providing constructive feedback and support for their continued professional development.
  • Ensure that schools within the area operate efficiently and effectively, adhering to district policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of school improvement plans.
  • Manage the allocation of resources to schools within the area, ensuring equitable distribution and alignment with student needs.
  • Collaborate between district and school leadership to balance each school’s budget while remaining fiscally responsible.
  • Develop and maintain a culture aligned with the mission and vision of ResponsiveEd.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Serve as a liaison between the schools and the district administration, effectively communicating the needs and concerns of the schools.
  • Foster strong relationships with campus leaders, teachers, staff, parents, and community members within the area.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among schools within the area, promoting shared learning and best practices.
  • Represent the district at community events and meetings, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning and Accountability:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the district's strategic plan.
  • Monitor the performance of schools within the area, ensuring accountability for student achievement and other key metrics.
  • Work with campus leaders to monitor school budgets, ensuring alignment with district priorities.
  • Strong ethical and professional standards.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Personnel Management:
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of campus leaders and other key personnel within the area.
  • Support the professional development of campus leaders and other staff members.
  • Address personnel issues and concerns within the area, working collaboratively with Human Resources.
  • Other Duties:
  • Regular travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by district leadership, including the Superintendent of Schools.
