Job Summary

THE POSITION: Under the direction of the Project Director III, Mental Health and School Counseling, the Project Director II shall assist in providing administrative leadership and oversight of unit staff and programs including the planning, organizing, implementing and reporting of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Capacity Grant within the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and across LA County Local Education Agencies (LEAs). The Project Director II makes decisions of critical consequence, impacting goals, organization, and administration of the CYBHI Capacity Grant including the training and development of LACOE and LEA staff, working closely with LEA leadership, and working in collaboration with other county agencies and community-based organizations. The Project Director II meets with state and county officials, educational administrators, agency representatives and grant program management for the purposes of planning and directing activities, implementing and validating decisions, and negotiating or settling significant issues related to the operation of the unit.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related and progressive experience (required), including: • A minimum of two years of administrative experience overseeing staff and program(s) • A minimum of three years of experience providing or leading multi-tiered school or LEA mental health systems of support EDUCATION: A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATE (must possess all of the following): • California Administrative Services Credential • Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work or School Counseling • License issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences in Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling or other related field.
