Job Summary

The Payroll Manager executes a range of technical duties to facilitate payroll processing, CALSTRS & 403-457(b) retirement reporting, systems analysis, statistical reporting, and policy formulation. This role encompasses conducting payroll operations such as time card verification, computation of salaries, and the execution of payroll processing. Additionally, the Payroll Manager is responsible for auditing and managing various related personnel files, records, and reports, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information is maintained at all times. This position is remote and will be performed from a home office. Candidates must reside in the Southern California area. Requirements / Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelors in Accounting and/or Human Resource related field required. Minimum two (2) years of experience including responsibility for technical payroll, accounting, or human resources duties. At least one (1) year of experience processing payroll in a computerized payroll system environment. A combination of training and experience may be substituted to demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Upon hire: State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work in an education setting (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years.
