Job Summary
The PBX Supervisor oversees the hospital telephone switchboard operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery for internal and external stakeholders. This role includes supervising and training PBX operators, scheduling staff, and maintaining operational continuity during emergencies or outages. Additionally, the PBX Supervisor contributes to department administration and upholds UCSF’s standards of safety and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise PBX operations, ensuring quality and quantity of work.
- Train staff on PBX equipment and operational procedures.
- Create and manage employee schedules to ensure coverage, including on-call support.
- Oversee adherence to hospital policies and emergency protocols.
- Provide customer service and address complaints or service recovery needs.
- Assist with department administrative functions as necessary.
- Monitor and improve operational efficiency through strategic planning.
