BRPH is looking for a National Practice Leader for our Interior Design Market Sector. Our Interior Design National Practice Leader provides strategic thinking of design/production in the industry with the collaboration of our Creative team. Leads and directs the Interior Design department in organizational structure, revenue, development of expertise, mentor-ship, and quality assurance, and assist in sales.
This position can be seated in either Orlando, Florida or Atlanta,Georgia.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs assignments designed to continue to develop complex professional interior design work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design tasks. Assignments require independent judgement and application of a non-routine, complex nature. Assignments shall include variables and be complex. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of interior design principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on interior design problems and methods, and represents the company to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of interior design. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work results from progressive experience and education. Assignments usually include complex interior design tasks and calculations with limited technical guidance on non-standard issues. Must coordinate with and help resolve conflicts with other disciplines based on an excellent understanding of the design process. Responsible for the preparation of project specific construction specifications and construction administration. Assignments will include managerial tasks of both project and personnel nature.
- Lead and direct the interior design department and provide technical and personnel guidance while acting as their immediate supervisor.
- May be assigned projects of complex nature, requiring skills in interior design, economics, business operations, marketing, etc., which may be team or individual oriented, and may have a far-reaching impact on the company.
- Prepares reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and permits for projects.
- Research discipline-related code issues and present interpretation.
- Visits construction site to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, attend construction site meetings, review RFI’s, prepare ASI’s, PR’s, prepare status reports, per the contract documents.
- Uses company and discipline department computer assisted design software and equipment to prepare design documents. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers.
- Duties include supervising, coordinating, and checking the work, as well as instructing, leading and mentoring other staff members.
- Perform checking of one’s own work and work prepared by the interior design team.
- Provide coordination of all applicable project discipline’s drawings and specifications.
- Assist in preparing design budgets, marketing proposals and cost estimates.
- Assist in preparing and presenting presentations in an effort to procure new work.
- Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
- Promote communications, cooperation and quality among staff.
- Must be proficient in the use of: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Project, and Word
- Promotes and represents the firm in a professional manner.
- Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH Systems Manuals.
- Develops interior design proposals and agreements for assigned projects.
- Prepares forecast of workload and resources for assigned projects, department and/or operations.
- Prepares and monitors project budgets. Has overall responsibility for the profitability of his/her projects.
- Responsible for meeting project schedules, timely completion and quality of assigned projects.
- Coordinates with the Project Managers with the establishment of project budgets and schedules.
- May serve as a project manager on assigned projects.
- Assists in marketing and presentations.
- Should be active in professional trade organizations.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree, in interior design or architecture from an accredited four-year college or university
- Minimum of ten years experience as a Licensed Interior Designer.
- Must have passed the exam and be NCDIQ certified.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
