Description

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, job costing, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Controller will serve as a key partner to the President and, at times, interact directly with the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct all accounting functions, including AR, AP, GL, job costing, and payroll accounting.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain job costing systems and partner with operations to ensure accurate project cost tracking and margin analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Implement and maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment, with 3+ years in a Controller or leadership role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and cost accounting in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (JobBoss experience preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to manage AR, AP, GL, job costing, and reporting functions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance audiences.
