Definition of Position:
Job Summary: The Float Pool Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care across various departments and units within the healthcare facility. This position requires a versatile nurse who can adapt to different clinical environments, demonstrate excellent nursing skills, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in diverse settings, including Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, ICU, Family Birth Center, and more.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patients' individual needs and established protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and respond to emergencies promptly.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies.
- Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff and assist with training new team members.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards in all clinical environments.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting; float pool experience is a plus.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; additional certifications may be required depending on the area of float.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients, with or without assistance.
- Manual dexterity for handling medical equipment and performing nursing tasks.
