TECHNICAL PUBLICATIONS MANAGER

The Technical Publications Manger is responsible for the document development process of PlaneSense/Cobalt manuals including editing, formatting, and distribution in compliance with

Company and FAA standards and regulations which include the following summary. The Technical Publications Manager reports and is responsible to the Deputy Vice President &

Director of Flight Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Manage the creation, revision, and control of Flight Operations manuals, including Flight Operations Manual (FOM), General Operations Manual (GOM), Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL), Training Program Manuals (TPM), and other regulatory publications.
  • Review, edit and finalize all manuals for consistency, grammar, spelling, and proper format, convert manuals to portable document format (pdf) and bookmark as required.
  • Ensure documentation complies with Company policies, FAA regulations, and applicable industry standards.
  • Lead the document control process, including version tracking, distribution, and archiving of manuals and updates.
  • Ensure timely completion and return of manual revision forms.
  • Install revisions to aircraft specific manuals.  
  • Collaborate closely with Flight Operations leadership, Safety, Training, and Compliance teams to ensure technical content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with operational needs.
  • Incorporate the concepts of the Safety Management System into routine activities.

Qualifications 

  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pease International Tradeport Security Badge and carry a valid driver’s license.
  • A professional, well-groomed appearance must be always maintained.
  • Must be able to work in office Monday through Friday 8am-4pm.
  • Must be able to put physical documentation in aircraft parked on our ramp.

Education and/or Experience     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, English, Technical Writing, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical publications, documentation management, or related field, preferably within aviation.
  • Strong knowledge of Part 91K or Part 135 FAA regulations, aviation operations, and safety requirements.
  • Experience with document management systems and electronic publication tools.
  • WebManuals editor experience is highly preferred.
