$27.65 to $30.42 hourly.  Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.  Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide.  Work schedule is Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.  Performs skilled crafts and trades work leading tile, granite, and other flooring, wall, and countertop demolition, removal, remodeling, renovation, and installation projects for the Facilities Maintenance section of Public Works. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:  Four (4) years of tile installation experience, which includes experience in demolition, remodeling, and construction project oversight.  Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.  Commercial and/or industrial experience is preferred.  Experience working with and in other trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, or other skilled trade work is preferred.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment.  Must be able to properly wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE).  Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.  In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
