The Role:
Global Mobility Interns are part of an environment that broadens their interpersonal and technical skills and deepens their knowledge of tax implications in a variety of industries. As an Intern, you will be given a career advisor to guide you throughout the experience and have the opportunity to build your professional network through various events and activities. Interns are staffed on engagements, similar to an Associate, and receive formal and on-the-job training to hone and develop their technical skills.
Global Mobility Intern Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing tax compliance activities and calculations, including assignment cost projections, net-pay calculations, tax reconciliation calculations and individual US income tax returns for globally mobile taxpayers.
- Assisting the team with delivery of global tax, HR, payroll and equity consulting and compliance services.
- Assisting with compensation reviews and gathering/analyzing mobility-related data (compensation, assignment related allowances, etc.) to support client projects and tax compliance.
- Assisting with thoughtful tax research and planning.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g. payroll, HR, immigration, etc.) to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Supporting process improvement, technology initiatives and compliance monitoring activities.
- Assisting with client management, deliverables, and practice development activities. Maintaining common processes, data integrity, and quality control through self-review of all communications and projects and timely and accurately updating systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, International Business, Human Resource Management, or another technical field with emphasis on quantitative analysis, logical thinking, and reasoning
- Eligible students should be in their 3rd year of a 4-year degree program or in their 4th year of a 5-year degree program. Interns typically join us during the winter/spring or summer prior to their intended graduation year
- A minimum GPA of 3.0
- Actively pursuing CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
- Adept in learning and operating software, knowledge of Power BI is highly valued
- Prior study abroad or international work experience highly valued
- Experience in individual income tax preparation highly valued
- Experience in a customer / professional services environment highly valued
- Organized, extreme attention to detail
- Ability to perform in highly interruptive conditions
- Must be flexible and able to work overtime to meet deadlines
