Position Summary: The Part-Time Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the finance team with projects covering tax and reporting. The role will focus on due diligence projects as well as learning how to do journal entries for corporations and assembling supporting documentation. This part-time position will work closely with our accounting professionals for 15 hours per week. The role would support key tax filings, assist in preparing internal reports, and gain exposure to real-world financial operations at a large domestic manufacturer.
This is a part-time role for 4 - 6 months working 15 - 20 hours a week.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain documentation for audits and compliance.
- Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax filings.
- Records supporting information for all journal entries.
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting processes.
- Pays attention to detail and completes paperwork accurately, neatly, and fully.
- Knows and follows the Accounting Department policies and procedures and Thorne Research policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Is at work as scheduled, starts work at the beginning of a shift, is on time to meetings, completes assigned tasks in a timely manner, and works overtime as required.
- Becomes cross-trained in other areas of the Finance Department as necessary and willingly works in different areas as assigned.
What You Need
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting.
- Completed some coursework in tax, financial accounting, or auditing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software a plus.
