Overview of Role
We are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join our team and support the growth of our education financing portfolio. This role is primarily execution-oriented, focused on research, analysis, and monitoring of credit performance. The Senior Credit Analyst will play a key role in maintaining strong risk management practices and identifying opportunities for policy and profitability improvements.
Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze credit KPIs across Climb’s lending portfolio
Research and diagnose credit risk issues, including school-level performance
Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and tools to track credit risk and portfolio health
Support analysis of credit policy and pricing changes, quantifying their impact on risk and profitability
Evaluate collections and servicing strategies to improve portfolio outcomes
Provide analytical insights to support senior team members and cross-functional partners
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Economics, Math, Engineering, or similar)
2–4 years of relevant Credit experience is strongly preferred; relevant experience in financial services, consulting, fintech, or banking may be considered
Strong technical skills: SQL and Excel modeling required; familiarity with Python, R, or Power BI is a plus
Highly curious and eager to dig into data to uncover insights
Strong analytical problem-solving ability and comfort working with complex, ambiguous data sets
Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to assess tradeoffs, identify root causes, and propose solutions
Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate findings clearly
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
