Rebuild Shop Technicians perform the necessary work to refurbish and repair a wide range of used packaging machines including, but not limited to semi-automatic and automatic stretch wrappers, shrink sealers, bundlers, shrink tunnels, horizontal form-fill and seal, strapping machines, tappers, case erectors, baggers, etc.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Rebuild / refurbish used packaging equipment with high quality workmanship in a timely and efficient manner.
• Disassemble, clean, evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, paint, and reassemble packaging equipment.
• Inspect and recognize when machine parts are worn out.
• Order necessary parts and supplies for machine rebuild use.
• Paint equipment using conventional HVLP automotive type paint gun and booth.
• Complete and maintain all rebuild paperwork; check sheets, sign-offs, etc.
• Build wooden crates for shipping machines per company standards using power tools.
• Daily cleaning, organization, and maintenance of Rebuild Shop and Demonstration Room.
• Shop Organization: tools, shop equipment, and rebuild parts / supplies.
• Follow safety guidelines for refurbishing used equipment including a willingness to wear the required PPE.
• Maintain spare parts inventory.
• Manage and maintain used equipment inventory.
• Uncrate, evaluate, and properly store received packaging equipment using a forklift.
• Qualified candidate may assist with company robotics objectives and initiatives.
• Occasionally attend training off-site or travel out of state as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
• Prefer Associates in Mechatronics or Industrial Maintenance from an accredited school.
• Or Minimum 3 years maintenance or machine rebuild experience on industrial equipment with heavy emphasis on PLC’s and/or robotics.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Competencies:
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must have good mechanical and electrical aptitude. Experience reading electrical schematics.
• The ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical problems.
• Experience with PLC’s (proficient with Allen Bradley) and other machine controls (relay logic, pneumatics).
• Robotics experience preferred.
• Must have good organizational skills. Effectively prioritizes and plans work activities.
• Rebuild Technicians should be self-motivated.
• Analytical problem solving and project management skills.
• Team oriented. Good communication and people skills. Maintain good relationship with Service Dept., Sales Partners, vendors, and customers.
• Should be flexible and willing to deal with regular changes in scope.
• Working knowledge to safely operate common hand tools and shop power tools such as grinders, sanders, band saws, drill press, wood miter saw, skill saw, nail gun, etc.
• Metal fabrication and welding experience.
• Painting skills with a traditional HVLP spray gun.
• Basic personal computer and phone skills. Check e-mail daily. Online parts research.

• Safely and skillfully operate a forklift and man lift.
• Must pass pulmonary function test administered by medical professional.
• Must have valid driver’s license, provide own transportation, have clean driving record, and provide proof of insurance.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screening.
