Engineering Manager
Location: Denver, CO - Hybrid Work Schedule
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking a talented and skilled Engineering Manager for our engineering team in Denver.
The Engineering Manager will support Senior Leadership and Team Supervisors with tracking engineering project budgets and planning resources, managing hiring and onboarding, developing and tracking engineering team budget, coordinating engineering team activities, and supporting business development and proposal efforts.

CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and tracking of the CLP Engineering company budget.
- Manage and coordinate the engineering hiring process including job posting, candidate phone screenings, interviews, offers, and onboarding with support/approval of the Director of Engineering.
- Develop and track engineering project budgets, providing updates to the Director of Engineering. Participate in job cost meetings and coordinate resolving engineering related issues.
- Support the Engineering Supervisors by planning and updating engineering resources required for projects, develop an entire team manpower resourcing plan including forecasted needs and compare to the current available resources. Provide updates to the Engineering Director.
- Work with the accounting team to set up new projects, charge codes, and project budgets.
- Support the Business Development team in proposal writing, attending conferences, client interface meetings, composing proposals, and developing cost estimates for projects.
- Update and maintain proposal boiler plate contents such as project highlights, resumes, experience, company background, etc.
- Support Marketing team to create and maintain CLPE website updates related to project highlights, awards, news, technical white papers, and other advertising content.
- Develop and plan engineering activities including training, team building, and other miscellaneous activities.
- Support the Engineering Director in supporting existing and developing new workflows, processes, and management tools to help the engineering team become more productive.
- Manage existing engineering libraries of standards, documents, processes and procedures and support the development of new documentation.
- Build, maintain, and update the company internal website providing a quick resource for the engineering team.
- Participate in project team meetings to track engineering resource needs.
- Participate in engineering budget and staffing meetings with the accounting and finance departments, including the CFO.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management. Experience in power or energy industry is a plus.
- Eight plus (8+) years’ experience in engineering team leadership/supervision, project management, or project engineering.
- Experience in the power systems engineering industry is a strong plus.
- Exceptional technical writing skills
- Proposal development experience and skills is a plus.
- Hiring manager experience is a plus.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work well with managers, peers, and junior staff.
- Highly motivated with a proven track record in successfully driving end-to-end processes.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
- You must be a US Citizen.
- You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance
- Valid driver’s license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.
Benefits & Compensation:
- CLP offers an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.
- Salary range: $100,000-$150,000 based on experience plus eligible for participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.
