The Transformation Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing one or more cross-departmental programs that support strategic initiatives, regulatory compliance, new product development, and operational improvements. This role oversees end-to-end program performance, including scope, timeline, budget, and quality of delivery. The position requires strong collaboration across business and technology teams, executive-level communication, and the ability to drive alignment across multiple workstreams. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities

  • Define program scope, milestones, resource needs, and business outcomes in partnership with stakeholders
  • Align program resources to budget constraints and reassess regularly
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demo, and Solution Demo to ensure cross-team alignment
  • Report MVP progress to key stakeholders, including steering and portfolio management
  • Develop and maintain critical path and business milestones to meet program goals
  • Coordinate epic-related activities across business readiness, communications, process design, and technology delivery
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and issues; facilitate resolution and decision-making
  • Hold teams accountable for deliverables and commitments; escalate and remove obstacles as needed
  • Ensure appropriate financial management and expenditures for assigned programs
  • Support business case development with Finance, Technology, and other workstreams
  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage executive stakeholder communications
  • Coach and support project managers through barriers and delivery challenges
  • Support business readiness representatives in managing expectations for program deliverables

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of work experience beyond degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years managing complex, cross-departmental programs
  • Proven success leading cross-functional strategic and transformation initiatives
  • Experience managing program budgets exceeding $1M and coordinating teams of 10–50+ across business, technology, change management, operational readiness, and training functions
  • Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end program management, including Agile delivery methodologies
  • Strong executive communication skills with a track record of producing high-impact status reports and presentations for senior leadership
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and adapt to evolving priorities
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet software
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience, particularly within payer organizations, is highly desirable

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $98,400 - $168,600. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $98,400 - $147,525. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.  In addition to compensation, Medica offers a generous total rewards package that includes competitive medical, dental, vision, PTO, Holidays, paid volunteer time off, 401K contributions, caregiver services and many other benefits to support our employees.
