Pay range: $20-$21/hour
WORK HOURS: The work hours of this position may require flexibility in order to meet production requirements. Some mandatory overtime may be required, and voluntary overtime may be available. Shift hours: 7AM – 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.
The Production Line Team Member consists of a wide variety of positions: Inspector, Processor, Packer, and Palletizer. The individual may be a trained and qualified individual in job functions that support the Food Safety Plan Critical Control Points and Preventive Controls such as product cooker temperature recording, metal detection operator, assisting in equipment cleaning, and label verification.
Responsibilities:
ASSEMBLES INGREDIENTS AND TOOLS:
- Identifies, sorts, counts, gathers and prepares raw materials and tools as required for regular production activity (may consist of lifting all raw ingredients)
- Transports raw materials in and out of production, warehouse, coolers and freezers.
ACCURATELY PRODUCES RAW PRODUCTS:
- Follows detailed instructions on mix sheets, spec sheets, training materials, equipment operating instructions and other materials to produce raw and cooked product to company and customer specification
OPERATES POWER EQUIPMENT:
- Uses and transports hand and/or power trucks, carts, conveyors, and hoists to handle and transport products and materials.
- Operates commercial mixing machines, dough presses, extruding equipment, conveyors and other powered mechanical devices for the production of raw and cooked products.
MAINTAINS ACCURATE RECORDS:
- Stamps, codes, labels, records weights and measures or otherwise mark identity on raw products.
MOVES PRODUCTS, INGREDIENTS AND WASTE MANUALLY:
- Transfers dough from table to production line hoppers. Requires pushing a dough table loaded with up to 1200 pounds of dough several yards using self ergonomics or a combination of self ergonomics and a powered pallet jack up five or more times in an hour.
- Transfers dry pasta in totes into mechanical dumping equipment using forklift for loading into cooker hopper. Transfers dough table from staging area to production line.
- Requires horizontally transferring same weight 20 lbs., 45 times an hour, a distance of 3 ft without mechanical assistance Transports waste products in excess of 100 lbs. (must use self-ergonomics, mechanical means and teamwork).
CLEANS AND MAINTAINS OWN WORK AREA AND OTHER AREAS IN PLANT:
- Operates pressure washer with 1500-2500 PSI or more of force and/or hose with sprayer nozzle to clean/sanitize equipment.
- Uses brushes, cleaning cloths and other cleaning tools to manually clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other routine cleaning duties as assigned.
SANITIATION
- Participates in mid shift line rinses or cleans under the direction of the Sanitation Line Lead.
- Safely perform cleaning operation using required PPE
- Assist in basic cleaning of lines and equipment, utilizing a multitude of cleaning tools. Tools can consist of various size hoses with spray nozzles, buckets, rags, scratch pads, foam dispensing bottles, tanks and wall stations.
- May participate in equipment inspections and re-cleaning.
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities:
Applies the food safety and quality principles as described in the Marzetti Corporate Food Safety and Quality Manual and internal Marzetti Frozen Pasta policies, training and procedures in all applicable aspects of departmental and job functions.
Qualifications:Qualification Requirements:
- At least 18-years of age
- High School Diploma or General Education (GED) preferred.
- Prior Manufacturing Experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Basic math skills include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence with minimum of high school accuracy and comprehension.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs., bend, carry, push, and pull.
- Must be willing and able to learn skills necessary to accurately input data into computer, payroll, attendance, manufacturing, and inventory tracking systems.
