As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking an Events & Logistics Technician who will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by supporting the planning and execution of campus events. Reporting to the Conference & Events and Customer Experience Coordinator, this role ensures that university facilities are well-maintained, and event logistics are executed efficiently. The Events & Logistics Technician plays a vital role in advancing Marian University’s Catholic Franciscan mission and identity through excellent service and stewardship of campus spaces. This position is directly responsible for the setup and teardown of event spaces and provides support for general maintenance and groundskeeping as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan Intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
- Physical room setup and breakdown for campus events
- Physical setup of public areas
- Placing tables, chairs, and stage/risers
- Loading and unloading from setup vehicles
- Cleans, stores, and secures all tables, chairs, and equipment in the proper manner
- Must assist team as needed, promoting positive teamwork
- Understand and execute the set-up and the sequence of multiple events
- Asist clients during pre-event set-up and post breakdown
- Check rooms for proper setup
- React in a timely manner to last-minute changes or any special requests from our clients
- Interacts positively with students and other University employees
- Performs other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to provide 100% guest satisfaction
- Conducts self in a professional and respectful manner towards guests, fellow employees, and management always.
Physical Demands:
- Walking, pulling, bending, lifting, pushing, stooping, ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
