Position Summary

This position provides accounting and clerical support to Tigua Inc. and its subsidiaries in accounts payable. Responsibilities include processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Accounts Payable Accountant collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to resolve billing discrepancies, support audits, and uphold financial accuracy and integrity.

 

Experience Requirements:              

                                                                                                                                       

  • Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files. 
  • Performs other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time. 
  • Comply with and promote corporate policies and procedures and ensure that proper internal controls are followed.
  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. 
  • Review and process employee expense reports to ensure all company policies and procedures are allowed.
  • Obtain, maintain, and update vendor records (W-9s, payment mailing addresses, independent contractor contracts, vendor changes, etc.)
  • Establish communication with vendors, partners, and employees to address and resolve any issues. 
  • Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks, ACHs and wires 
  • Perform and assist in month end closing procedures including preparation of journal entries, A/P reconciliation and A/P accruals.
  • Process year-end 1099 issuance and 1096 transmittal to the IRS. 
  • Prepare labels and maintain files as needed within the Department.
  • Files accounting correspondence.
  • Distributes signed checks as required. 

Education Requirements:

 

  • Admin with min of one-year administrative experience. 
  • 1-3 years in government accounting
  • Deltek experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of US GAAP and concepts associated with accruals, deferrals, capitalization, and overall recognition of expenses. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Clearance Required: 

  • NA

Travel:                                                                                                                                                                  10% required

Physical and Technical Environment:                                                                                

  • Work is performed in a standard office setting with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Minimal physical exertion is required; however, must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:     

  • This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.                                                                 
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
