Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
Location: Crowley, TX • Schedule: Full-time

At The Maples, our team of licensed clinical social workers, professional counselors, psychiatrists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners provides comprehensive support to teenage girls and their families throughout the healing journey.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team and support excellence in patient care, staff development, and program quality.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
As the ADON, you will partner with the Director of Nursing to provide leadership in our 24-hour nursing care system. You’ll supervise nursing staff, techs and support interdisciplinary treatment planning, and ensure care meets professional and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and supervision for nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and Mental Health Technicians.
- Oversee nursing assessments, nursing care plans, patient education, and clinical documentation.
- Contributing to quality improvement, infection control, and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
- Provide direct patient care as needed
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality psychiatric nursing care consistent with ANA standards.
- Manage and monitor medication administration, storage, and physician orders.
- Support treatment programs, interdisciplinary care coordination, and treatment team meetings.
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and budget compliance to meet patient needs.
- Contribute to quality improvement, infection control, risk management, and compliance initiatives.
- Act as liaison between program staff, medical staff, and ancillary services.
- Participate in performance evaluations, staff development, and ongoing improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Associates Degree in Nursing Required, Bachelors Preferred
- 1+ years of nursing leadership experience, including at least 1 year in psychiatric/mental health care
- Weekend Coverage if needed
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- BLS certification required.
