Summary

The Account Manager, Personal Lines, will serve and grow the book of clients assigned to you by providing extraordinary service, educating the customer, identifying revenue growth opportunities, and generating referrals. Account managers focus on growth within their current book of business while also backing up their co-workers. This position will be required to report to NFP’s Plymouth, IN office 5 days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve and grow the assigned book of clients by providing extraordinary service, educating customers, identifying revenue growth opportunities, and generating referrals
  • Maintain a consistently high retention rate on your book of business
  • Proactively reach out to clients and conduct ongoing account reviews
  • Work efficiently and effectively with clients on their policies
  • Perform effective account rounding and generate referrals for personal lines and other departments
  • Educate clients about the benefits of the agency and proactively call cancelled business to win them back
  • Generate additional revenue by reviewing accounts and improving coverage through endorsements and coverage increases
  • Identify account rounding opportunities and coverages held with other agents
  • Generate demand for additional coverages (e.g., umbrella) and consistently share the agency’s referral program
  • Complete 100% of assigned account reviews weekly, including discount and coverage gap evaluations
  • Contact clients for formal reviews to strengthen relationships, generate opportunities, and reduce remarketing
  • Follow agency remarketing guidelines
  • Provide outstanding inbound service on claims, billing questions, and endorsements
  • Manage client expectations and follow up via phone or email
  • Confirm and update client contact information during interactions
  • Service Personal Lines accounts to eliminate coverage gaps and reduce E&O exposures
  • Document all activity in the management system and follow agency service standards
  • Conduct audits on new business files and collaborate with producers to ensure accuracy
  • Send onboarding materials to clients post-sale and update any missed new business items
  • Sell new business by quoting over the phone or scheduling appointments within 48 hours
  • Follow the agency sales process and maintain the target closing ratio
  • Support the marketing and branding team by submitting business cards, suggesting content topics, sharing social media posts, and participating in branding opportunities

  • Positive attitude and efficient work ethic
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to streamline processes and utilize technology tools effectively
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with clients and agency personnel
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Sales and marketing awareness to support agency growth initiatives

Education and/or Experience

  • Prior experience in Personal Lines account management or insurance services preferred
  • Applied Epic experience is a plus

The base salary range for this position is $40,000 to $75,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
