This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values safety, and is open to learn from highly skilled machinists. Previous experience in metal work is helpful but not required — we are willing to train!

Wage: $21-$25/hour DOE

Position Summary: 

The CNC Operator will operate CNC machines (mills and lathes) to produce high-quality machined components that meet precise specifications and customer requirements.

What You’ll Do:

CNC Machine Operation

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.).
  • Select, install, and adjust cutting tools.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues in collaboration with supervisors and programmers.

Quality Control

  • Conduct in process and final component inspection, using various precision tools.
  • Keep accurate production and quality records in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Monitor tool wear, machine performance, and part quality.

Maintenance and Safety

  • Perform basic routine preventive maintenance on CNC Machines.
  • Adhere to all safety policies/standards and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Keep a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Team Collaboration

  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel to optimize machining processes and resolve production issues.

What We’re Looking for:

  • Some experience operating CNC machines is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated candidates.
  • Ability and willingness to learn to: read blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Some experience using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn tool set up, fixtures, and machine offsets.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills for recording production and quality information.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. (over 75 lbs. with assistance) and work in manufacturing environment.
  • Team oriented, dependable, and able to follow instructions.
  • Dependable, with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This role involves standing for extended periods, regular lifting and carrying, bending, and reaching. You will work in a semi-climate-controlled environment that is noisy with heavy vibrations and physically demanding. You must be able to wear PPE (safety glasses, hearing protections, gloves, etc.). Good vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination are important for safety and quality.
