Summary
Provides exemplary customer service for those visiting a marquee company store. Assists with store inventory and keeps shelves stocked and neat. Pulls items for donations, sales and social media promotions and prepares for shipping.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Assists customers in the company store. Operates the cash register. Keeps shelves stocked and neat.
- Serves pickle samples and sodas from the store’s Pickle Bar.
- Arranges merchandise, store fixtures, and decorations as needed.
- Assists customers with viewing the company’s Tour DVD.
- Assists the gift shop coordinator with managing and inspecting inventory, and making returns if needed.
- Reconciles cash register receipts daily and weekly.
- Records all donated items, including pickles, store merchandise and employee rewards.
- Records door counts of visitors and employees.
- Assembles product and merchandise requests for donations as well as social media and marketing outreach as needed, and prepares for delivery.
- Processes gift pack orders by phone as needed.
- Generates shipping labels for samples, merchandise and gift packs as needed.
- Keeps Pickle Bar and cash bar areas clean and tidy.
- Follows safety rules and company policies.
Other Duties
- Operates gift shop in the absence of Gift Shop Coordinator.
- Prepares various mailings as scheduled or instructed throughout the year.
- Provides any needed clerical assistance relating to sales for the Public Relations Manager.
- Assists with the company’s presence at special events such as the North Carolina Pickle Festival and the New Year’s Eve Pickle Drop.
- Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
- Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Physical Demands
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerate degree and requires full se of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for short distances or moving from one work station to another.
Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Occasionally lifting up to 45 pounds.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform and activity such as: preparing and analyzing data figures: transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Work Environment
Usual office and retail shop working conditions. Some work in stockroom/warehouse.

Requirements
High school plus additional training required. Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of standard business software plus specialty software required. Math skills include basic math, basic accounting, algebra and making change from purchases. Must read, write and speak English, conversational Spanish a plus. Pleasant personality for contact with customers.
