Duties
Repairs and maintains a variety of gasoline/diesel powered equipment such as boats, campers, canoes, inboard/outboard motors, tractors, garden tillers, lawnmowers, bicycles, utility trailers, etc.,Identifies maintenance problems through periodic checks or when equipment is brought in for repair or service.,Performs such repairs as changing fuel and oil filters, making adjustments, hydraulic repairs, replacing belts and hoses, oil and grease seals and gaskets, and overhauling/repairing electrical/mechanical/hydraulic systems.,Uses such tools as welders, drill presses, pneumatic riveting tools, grinders, lathes, sanders, drill saw, saber saw, tacks, ring compressors, spring valve compressors, air drills, etc.,Establishes a preventive maintenance scheduling for all recreational equipment.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade. a. Position requires a diversity of knowledge and skills in performing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic repairs on equipment operated by diesel/gasoline powered engines. b. Position also uses welding skills to weld metals and plastics, basic carpentry skills to build benches, basic painting to refurnish bikes and boats, and body work to repair fiberglass boats and skis. c. Incumbent must use judgment to determine what items should be purchased and/or recommended for purchase.

Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
