Position Summary

The Clinic Manager is a leadership role which is responsible for performing exceptional patient care, in addition to providing strong leadership to Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapists.

Primary Functions & Accountabilities

  • Exercises fair and firm leadership of all Office employees, establishing and maintaining high morale in the department
  • Monitors the level and standard of work produced by staff and guides, coaches, and advises as appropriate
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods
  • Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests
  • Conducts regular performance reviews
  • Oversees staff payroll, time-cards, and paid time off
  • Supervises all non-physician office staff and ancillary personnel, coordinating activities to accomplish the goals of the practice and the office
  • Implements and monitors office policies and procedures
  • Works with the management team and office staff to coordinate the functions of patient care services across the practice
  • Ensures superior service for all patients of the practice
  • Consults with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms
  • Diagnoses movement dysfunction and develops a treatment plan
  • Teaches patients how to properly use therapeutic exercise techniques
  • Assists patients with the use of equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers
  • Maintains patient records and documents goals and progress
  • Utilizes knowledge of patient's diagnosis, signs, and symptoms presented and results of diagnostic studies to determine the patient's level of function
  • Sets priorities and establishes realistic short-term goals and long-term outcomes
  • Documents and maintains a plan of care for each patient which includes specific physical therapy orders in coordination with the medical plan of care
  • Appropriately utilizes the capabilities of personnel in assignment of self and team members

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High proficiency with computers, MS Office, and practice management systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, along with excellent leadership, customer service, and service recovery skills.

Position Requirements

  • BS, MS or DPT from an accredited school
  • Current Physical Therapist license
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Outpatient orthopedic practice highly preferred
