Brown and Caldwell (BC) is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Industrial Water practice and provide membrane treatment knowledge and experience to evaluate, plan, and design industrial water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. Detailed Description:

  • Work hand in hand with clients and project delivery teams across the United States to execute industrial water projects, programs, and studies.
  • Provide consultation in membrane area of specialization to help project teams make decisions and solve problems
  • Review water and wastewater field data, sample analytical data, and operations data at industrial facilities. Evaluate treatment approaches for water quality parameters.
  • Work with project teams to develop preliminary designs (PFD/PID).
  • Develop design calculations and membrane projections for selected water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Interface with engineering disciplines, departments, and other offices to develop and deliver a seamless design for a full functioning system.
  • Preparation of engineering reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
  • Assist subject matter specialists in delivery of industrial water projects and support quality control reviews in project delivery
  • Mentor/supervise, delegate, and oversee the work of other engineers

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or Chemical) or related field required. M.S. degree is preferred
  • PE License preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years (advanced degrees count as 2 years) of progressively increasing responsibility in membrane water/wastewater treatment including pre- and post-treatment requirements
  • Preferred experience with full-scale or pilot plant design and operations that includes and integrates use of membrane systems (MBR, MF, UF, NF, RO)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.  These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $106,000 - $145,000

Location B: $117,000 - $160,000

Location C: $128,000 - $174,000
